庫克船長小屋
庫克船長小屋（英語：Cooks' Cottage，舊名：Captain Cook's Cottage）[7] 位於澳洲墨爾本斐茲洛伊花園。1755年，船長占士·庫克（James Cook）的父母，占士（James Cook）和格雷斯·庫克（Grace Cook），在英格蘭北約郡的大艾頓村（Great Ayton）建造了這座小屋，[8] 1934年，拿斯爾·格里姆瓦德（Russell Grimwade）爵士將其運到了墨爾本。[9][10] 歷史學家們猜測，著名的航海家占士·庫克是否曾住在這所房子裏，但幾乎可以肯定的是，他曾在這所房子裏拜訪過他的父母。[8]
小屋內有數百年的古董，風格與18世紀相似，義工導遊的衣服也是如此。[9]

1933年，這座小屋的主人決定將其出售，但出售條件是該建築留在英格蘭。她被說服將「英格蘭」改為「大英帝國」，並接受了拿斯爾·格里姆瓦德的出價800英鎊，而當地出價最高的是300英鎊。[8][11]
庫克船長小屋被一塊磚一塊磚地拆開，裝進253箱40桶，從赫爾運到「達尼丁港」號上。當這座房子在墨爾本重建時，裝飾這座房子的常春藤枝條也被採摘並種植在那裏。1934年10月定居墨爾本100周年紀念時，著名的商人和慈善家格里姆·瓦德（Grimwade）將這所房子捐贈給了維多利亞州人民。[8]
庫克船長小屋立即成為一個受歡迎的旅遊景點。1978年，對這座小屋進行了進一步的修復工作。這座房子周圍建了一座英式的村舍花園。房子裏的物品很少是庫克家族的，但都是當時具有代表性的家具。
