海外 (十字軍東征)

海外（法語：Outremer）是一個對十字軍國家的通稱。這一稱謂源於歐洲人在第一次十字軍東征中的勝利，並用以稱謂埃德薩伯國、安條克公國、的黎波里伯國、並尤其是耶路撒冷王國等十字軍國家。文藝復興期間這一稱謂經常等同於整個黎凡特地區或者用來指代聖地^[1]。其中雖然奇里乞亞亞美尼亞王國建立於十字軍東征之前，但羅馬教宗雷定三世授予了它王國的地位，並且法國裔的呂西尼昂家族完全西化了王國。

通常在法語中，海外（outremer）可以指任何海外地方，例如西法蘭克王國國王路易四世因其成長於英格蘭的背景也被稱為「海外歸來的路易（法語：Louis d'Outremer）」。

在羅蘭之歌中，海外是一個虛構的穆斯林國家的名稱，它也是劇情高潮部分參與抵抗基督教的穆斯林世界國家之一。

現代含義編輯

現代法語中的海外（outre-mer）需要附加連字符並且等同於漢語海外的意思。法國政府在例如法國海外部分（法語：France d'outre-mer）的名稱中仍會使用這一詞彙。也是拉格朗德默特的一家法國遊艇製造商的名稱。
