指點設備（pointing device）是指一種輸入接口（尤其是human interface device），允許user輸入空間性（及連續和多維）數據到一台computer的。 CAD系統和graphical user interfaces（GUI）允許用戶控制和提供數據到計算機，通過移動一個手持式鼠標或類似設備用物理gestures在物理桌面的表面上移動，然後用鼠標上的開關激活。Movements of the pointing device are echoed on the screen by movements of the pointer (or cursor) and other visual changes. Common gestures are point and click and drag and drop.
