乔·苏瓦兹
乔·苏瓦兹（英语：Joe Schwarcz，1947年8月20日—）是一名加拿大麦基尔大学教授，其本名为约瑟夫·A·苏瓦兹（英语：Joseph A. Schwarcz），他的学生及与他一同在科学普及共事的同事称他为乔博士（Dr. Joe）。目前乔·苏瓦兹担任麦基尔大学科学和社会办公室（McGill's Office for Science & Society）主任，并致力于向公众揭开科学的神秘面纱。[1]

乔·苏瓦兹出生于匈牙利肖普朗[2]，他是一名匈牙利犹太人，1973年时于麦基尔大学获得化学博士学位。[3]苏瓦兹著作许多跟化学相关的科普书籍，在蒙特利尔宪报有专属的每周专栏[4]，在蒙特利尔CJAD800与多伦多CFRB1010有每周广播节目[5]；另外他曾主持加拿大探索频道的《Science to Go》等节目。[6]
苏瓦兹以在公开讲座用有趣的方式，阐述“家用化学”及“爱的化学”等方面丰富地知识而闻名。他最初于凡尼尔学院及道森学院任教，并设立一系列化学课程及公开讲座，为普通学生与公众传播化学知识。[2]当苏瓦兹转任麦基尔大学后，仍持续地以此模式向大众推广化学知识。苏瓦兹同时也是一位业余魔术师，经常描述如何透过普通手段，或是科学解释“超自然壮举”。在苏瓦兹的著作及演讲中，经常以破解尤里·盖勒的魔术手法当范例。[7]
苏瓦兹后来被麦基尔大学提名为美国科学与工程嘉年华会上的50为具特色的演讲者之一。在节日期间，他向学生们介绍了他的工作和事业。[8]
2011年11月，洛恩·托蒂尔认为苏瓦兹是推动加拿大科学促进的最大礼物，并向麦基尔大学捐赠550万美元，资助苏瓦兹向公众宣传反庸医和“与吹牛者斗争”的教育。[1]
