撞擊事件
2010年木星撞擊事件是2010年時在木星發生的大隕石撞擊事件，撞擊物可能是直徑約8–13米的小行星、彗星、半人馬小行星、熄火彗星或被木星引力臨時捕獲的衛星。
觀測 編輯
此次撞擊事件的過程是由澳大利亞天文愛好者安東尼·韋斯利（Anthony Wesley）在2010年6月3日發現並第一個報告。菲律賓天文愛好者克里斯多福·郭（Christopher Go）也拍攝影片而同時記錄這次事件。[1][2][3]
這次撞擊事件的觀測持續約2秒[1][4]，位於木星大氣層的南赤道帶區，距離中央子午線約50度。[5]。撞擊物的直徑約為8–13米，質量為500-2000千噸。[6] 木星每年都會被這種級別的天體撞擊數次。[6] 2010年8月20日，又發現了另一次新的木星撞擊事件[7]，而在8月23日，又有兩個天文愛好者觀測到撞擊事件。[8]
