早年生活 編輯

詹姆士於1996年5月14日在美國亞利桑那州出生。他共有1個哥哥和3個姐妹：一個姐姐、一個雙胞胎姐姐和一個妹妹。他製作的第一個漫畫是他在9歲畫出的加菲貓同人漫畫[5]。

網絡漫畫 編輯

詹姆士在他的16歲生日獲得了數碼繪圖板[6]，利用這份禮物，他於2012年6月14日在Tumblr上傳了「TheOdd1sOut」的第一張網絡漫畫[7]，並之後上傳至iComic[8]。在第一年製作這些漫畫的過程中，他不斷更換他的畫風，直到最後的泡泡風格[9][10]。他目前仍然上傳網絡漫畫，但比起以前已經大量減少次數，這是因為他的大部分時間都花在了YouTube上。他最後的網絡漫畫是在2017年5月上傳[11]。

2014年8月30日，已經製作網絡漫畫長達2年的詹姆士決定開始製作YouTube影片。他將頻道命名為「theodd1sout comic」，並上傳了一段影片，講述他在小學製作的書籍。經歷了幾年的成長後，他的頻道成功在2016年4月增加了27萬位訂閱者，截至5月獲得了累積40萬位訂閱者[12]。他關於在賽百味工作的影片也在Foodbeast（英語：Foodbeast）網站中出現。該網站的作者——彼特·范（Peter Pham）稱他的影片「很贊」且「搞笑」[13][14]。在2016年，他製作了一段影片慶祝他和一位女演員——米蘭達·蔻思葛芙的生日。而在2017年，為了慶祝3百萬訂閱，他給自己身上倒下了3百萬顆巧克力米[15]。截至2019年6月17日，他的頻道已有1185萬位訂閱者[16]，對撞機的作者之一——戴維·特朗勃爾（Dave Trumbore）稱詹姆士和其他四位YouTuber「已準備好獲得主流的成功」[17]。他也有另一個名為「TheOdd2sOut」的頻道，目前擁有191萬位訂閱者[18][19]。
