新兀鷲
新兀鷲（學名Neocathartes）是一屬已滅絕的鳥類。屬內只有一個物種，其化石是在懷俄明州始新世晚期的瓦沙基組（Washakie Formation）發現。[1]亞歷山大·韋特莫爾（Alexander Wetmore）最初以Eocathartes來命名新兀鷲，但此名已用來命名了另一種德國的鳥類化石，故重新命此學名。[2]

新兀鷲最初被認為是不能飛的新世界禿鷹，但現已被分類在Bathornitidae中。[3]新兀鷲是一種幼長的鳥類，約有紅頭美洲鷲的大小。雖然牠們可以飛行，但大部份時間會留在地上，因牠們的腳很長。牠們的生活習性就像現今的蛇鷲。[4]
