Jefferson Township is one of the thirteen townships of Clinton County, 俄亥俄州, 美國. The 2010 census reported 1,399 people living in the township,[3] 1,084 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.
地理
編輯Located in the southwestern part of the county, 與以下鎮區接壤：
- Washington Township - 北
- Clark Township - 東
- Dodson Township, Highland County - 東南
- Perry Township, Brown County - 南west
- Marion Township - 西
The entire township lies in the Virginia Military District.
The village of Midland is located in northwestern Jefferson Township.
Transportation
編輯Major highways include U.S. Route 68 and State Routes 28 and 251.
Name and history
編輯Named for President Thomas Jefferson, it is one of twenty-four Jefferson Townships statewide.[4]
It was erected from Clark and Marion townships by the Clinton County Commissioners in 1839.[5]
政府
編輯鎮區有3人組成的理事會管理。理事會理事選舉在奇數年11月舉行，並在來年1月1日開始四年任期。兩名理事的選舉在總統選舉後一年舉行，另一名的選舉在總統選舉前一年舉行。鎮區財務官亦由選舉產生[6]，與一名鎮區理事選舉同時舉行，不過在來年4月1日才開始四年任期。若財務官或理事職位有空缺，將由剩餘理事填補。
