红头犀鸟
红头犀鸟（学名：Rhabdotorrhinus waldeni，英语：Walden's hornbill、Rufous-headed hornbill，中国大陆作红头犀鸟，台湾作皱嘴皱盔犀鸟），是犀鸟目犀鸟科皱盔犀鸟属下的一种鸟类。[3]该物种仅分布于菲律宾的班乃岛及内格罗斯岛中的常绿低地森林及山地森林内，是中等大小的森林型犀鸟。[3][4]但因族群稀少及居住环境被破坏的问题，目前被列为极危物种。[1][5]

本物种是由英国动物学家理察·鲍德勒·夏普于1877年发表，并命名为Craniorrhinus waldeni。[3][6]在分类上，红头犀鸟曾被视为是白头犀鸟的亚种之一，但现在由于其不同的色彩和分布范围，现在被视为一个独立的物种。[4]本物种原先与棕颈犀鸟被分类在同一属下，但后来根据分析发现实际上其关系与斑嘴犀鸟属较近而与其他物种被立为现在的皱盔犀鸟属。[7]其属名Rhabdotorrhinus是由希腊语的rhabdotos（意即“条纹的”）及rhis（意即“犀牛”）组成。[8]:333而种小名waldeni则是为了纪念苏格兰鸟类学家亚瑟·海伊男爵，其侄子在他死后整理鸟类学著作并出版时以“Walden”作为其缩写名称。[8]:406[9]
其雄性成鸟的头颈后方呈深褐色，其于上半身多呈赤褐色；鸟喙为橙红色，上喙高高隆起的角质突起呈红橙色，下喙则有褶皱；脸部的裸露皮肤呈红黄色；眼睛深红色；雌鸟较小，头胸部呈黑色，面部皮肤上有蓝绿色调，眼睛褐色。[10]两性皆有白底带黑条纹的尾部，并可能因沾染成赤褐色。[10]幼鸟与成年雄鸟相似，但无角质突起。[10]
这种鸟类主要为植食性，主要食用水果，并包含一些无花果。[11][10]在观察中，其繁殖期约为3—5月之间，雌鸟会在此期间封闭巢穴的出入口以照顾幼鸟；而雄鸟所提供的食物98%为水果，2%为无脊椎动物，并保卫巢穴周围。[4]其体长60—65厘米，体重平均约1146.0公克，鸟喙宽平均约35.2毫米、深平均约67.7毫米、嘴峰长平均约141.5毫米；翼长平均约331.0毫米；跗跖约58.5毫米；尾长约265.0毫米。[11][10]
因其栖地多已破碎化并有被狩猎的问题，其剩余族群数量极少，2007年的评估中认为其总族群约有2500只。[5]吉马拉斯岛也曾可能是其分布范围，但因故不存。[5]但在班乃岛的保育措施被认为有助于降低巢穴偷猎的情况，但效果尚不明显。[5]因此在《国际自然保护联盟濒危物种红色名录》被列入极危物种。[1][5]
