尼波林湖(英语:Lake Neepaulin)是位于美国新泽西州苏塞克斯县旺蒂奇的一座小型人工淡水湖[2]。坐落于沃尔基尔河支流帕帕卡廷溪的分水界,1950年代在无名山涧上的一座水坝之上形成,而该水坝也是一座私人住宅区的一大特征。这条溪流如今被称之为尼宝拉卡廷溪,直至2002年才得到名字[3]。
描述
编辑尼波林湖是一座形成于尼宝拉卡廷溪水坝之上的人造湖泊,这条小型山涧直至2002年依然未被命名[3]。这条溪流的源头位于尼波林湖北端西北部大约0.4英里(0.64 km)[1][3],距离650号县道(利伯蒂维尔路)以南不远处,大致位于旺蒂奇和苏塞克斯市镇两个村镇的中间位置[2][4]。尼波林湖海拔509英尺(155米) [1],是一座私人住宅开发项目的中心区域。从大坝开始,湖泊溪流向东南处流动1.5英里(2.4 km),然后流入沃尔基尔河支流帕帕卡廷溪。溪流、湖泊,以及其流域均处于基特阿廷尼山谷,该山谷被马丁尼斯堡地层的深色页岩和石灰岩覆盖,其土壤起源于冰川[5][6]。

历史
编辑1950年代,一位房地产开发商在苏塞克斯市镇西部与南部的一条无名溪流上筑坝,并修建尼波林湖[8]。这座湖泊位于一个尚在修建计划中的私人湖滨住宅社区的中心[8],名字则由住宅小区开发商子女们的名字组合而来[9]。2014年,旺蒂奇镇政府从一个非盈利管理组织的手中收购了该湖泊,并向镇上的居民开放了指定的公共区域以进行消遣娱乐[10][11]。在收购此区域时,镇政府还承担了从新泽西州环保局偿还120万美元大坝修复贷款的责任[12]。
