甲蟎亞目

甲蟎亞目Oribatida),又名隱氣門亞目Cryptostigmata), 是蛛形綱蜱蟎亞綱蟎形總目恙蟎目之下的四個亞目之一[1],以青苔甲蟲為食[2]。亦有其他文獻把本分類歸為目級,學名不變[3][4]。牠們的大小從0.2至1.4毫米[2][5][6]

甲蟎的新陳代謝速率一般比較低,發展也慢,繁殖力也低[2]。 Species are iteroparous with adults living a relatively long time; for example, estimates of development time from egg to adult vary from several months to two years in temperate forest soils.[2] Oribatid mites have six active instars: prelarva, larva, 3 nymphal instars and the adult.[2] All these stages after the prelarva feed on a wide variety of material including living and dead plant and fungal material, lichens and carrion; some are predatory, but none is parasitic and feeding habits may differ between immatures and adults of the same species.

甲蟎是多種絛蟲綱物種的宿主,有助泥土內的有機物質分解,就好像蚯蚓那樣,所以在農業經濟上有其重要之處[7]

分類编辑

舊屬疥蟎亞目(Sarcoptiformes)[3]。根據2011年時的分類,本亞目現時下領五個下目、249個科、2399個屬,16,197個物種,這還未計算化石種的兩個科、20個屬共108個物種[8]。這五個下目分別如下[8]: Oribatida is divided into the following taxa:[9] 這五個下目分別如下[8]
