兀龙属
兀龙属（学名：Gyposaurus）是种原始蜥脚形亚目恐龙，生存于侏罗纪早期的中国及南非。它经常被认为是其他原始蜥脚形亚目的幼体，但中国兀龙近期却被认为是有效的物种[1]。它的学名的意思是“兀鹫蜥蜴”，是因早期理论认为原蜥脚类是肉食性恐龙而命名的。

化石发现 编辑
南非兀龙（G. capensis）是由苏格兰医生及古生物学家罗伯特·布鲁姆（Robert Broom）于1911年根据部分骨骼命名的，这些骨骼包括了11节背椎及6节尾椎、肋骨、腹肋、部分右肩胛骨、右骨盆、左肠骨、及大部分右后肢，都是从南非奥兰治自由邦的上艾略特组发现[2]。起初他认为兀龙是属于可疑的Hortalotarsus[2]。彼得·加尔东（Peter Galton）等人于1976年将它定为近蜥龙的异名[3]，但Michael Cooper则于1981年认为它是大椎龙的异名[4]，但不被广泛接纳。
在1941年，杨钟健根据中国云南禄丰组发现的大部分骨骼、部分头颅骨，命名为中国兀龙（G. sinensis），并将多个标本编入此种；禄丰组的年代为侏罗纪早期[5]。加尔东于1976年将它归类为禄丰龙的幼体[6]，但董枝明则于1992年将此种归类于近蜥龙[7]。在2004年，加尔东及保罗·厄普丘奇（Paul Upchurch）则认为它有可能是一个有效及独立的分类，但需要一个新的属名。[1]
