小盗龙类
小盗龙类（学名：Microraptoria）是近鸟类的一个演化支，这类恐龙的腿部都长有羽毛。小盗龙类最早于1亿2500万年前出现，其中绝大多数成员的化石都发现于中国。多数小盗龙类是半树栖滑翔动物。它们的体型都很小；小盗龙属的成年标本介于77-90厘米（2.53-2.95英尺）长并重大1千克（2.2磅），这也造就了小盗龙属为最小的恐龙。[1][2]最大的西爪龙属、长羽盗龙属和中国鸟龙属的身长都没有超过1.8米[1]。

小盗龙类通常被分类为属于驰龙科。Senter与其同事把小盗龙类明确杜撰成缺少亚科学名的词尾-inae以避免感知问题连同树立传统的分类类群，以免未来有可能被归类于驰龙科。[3]塞里诺提供了含有小盗龙的修订定义，以确保它将分类至驰龙科，并树立小盗龙亚科，归因于Senter与其同事。但这名词只出现于他的恐龙网站，并没有经过正式的发表程序。[4]
