渐雷兽（学名Brontops）是一属已灭绝及像犀牛的奇蹄目哺乳动物。

外观编辑

渐雷兽是一种类似犀牛的大型动物，肩高2.5米，但其下的B. dispar的大小则像现今的白犀牛。它们外观很像着名的王雷兽，同样在鼻端上拥有像角的粗钝突出物，但较为短小。根据2004年新建议的分类，渐雷兽被并入巨角犀属之中。^[1]

一头雄性渐雷兽的头颅骨与其部份复原的肋骨一同被发现，支持了雄性渐雷兽会以其“角”互相打斗的说法。造成这种创伤的除了是其他的渐雷兽外，没有其他可能性。它的呼吸阻碍了其肋骨骨折的完全复原。成年的渐雷兽亦有可能以其角保护子女，免受如肉齿目或猎猫科等猎食者的追捕。
