文洛克世
志留紀的第二個世
文洛克世（英語：Wenlock，有時被稱作Wenlockian）是志留紀的第二個世，它位於蘭多維列世之後，羅德洛世之前。根據輻射日期的測定，文洛克世開始於4.33億年前，結束於4.27億年前[4]。

命名與歷史 編輯
文洛克得名於文洛克埃奇山，這是在什羅普郡（英國西米德蘭郡）的大溫洛克鎮附近的一塊出露的岩石[5]。 1834年，羅德里克·麥奇生在「文洛克與達德利岩石群」一詞中首次使用這個名詞，指位於他所謂的「勒德洛岩」之下的石灰岩和下伏頁岩[6]。他後來在他1839年所著的《志留紀體系》一書中把這個詞簡化為「文洛克岩」[7]。
定義與分界 編輯
文洛克世的開始由申伍德期的下邊界(或GSSP)定義。末端被定義為戈斯特期的基礎（或 GSSP）[8]。
文洛克世分為較老的申伍德期和較年輕的侯默期階段。申伍德期從433.4百萬年前延續至430.5百萬年前。侯默期從430.5百萬年前延續至427.4百萬年前[4]。
