這個系統中可見的那顆恆星被視為類太陽恆星。截止2000年，已經確認有一顆太陽系外行星圍繞它公轉。這顆恆星引人注目之處在於它與太陽相當相似並且離太陽較近，最重要的是它擁有太陽系外行星[4]。
恆星成分 編輯
作為一顆臨近的類似於太陽的恆星，格利澤3021的深入研究開始於上一個十年，特別是它的亞恆星伴星發現之後。它目前的年齡大約有8億歲，但是用不同方法進行估計的結果從1.5億年到88億年不等[3]。這顆恆星的含鐵量比太陽高，色球層更活躍，自轉也比太陽更快。第二顆恆星格利澤3021B是一顆M4型紅矮星，與格利澤3021A相距大約68天文單位[5]。
行星系 編輯
2000年時天文學家宣佈發現了類木行星格利澤3021b，它在距離格利澤3021A大約0.5天文單位的軌道上運轉，質量至少為木星的3.37倍。這些數據是由恆星徑向速度的變化來確定的。2001年出版的一篇論文提出，通常使用徑向速度法難以測出太陽系外行星的軌道傾角，因此這個質量數據可能被嚴重低估[6]。天體測量學得出的軌道傾角為11.8°，而質量為木星的11倍，這表明它可能是一顆棕矮星。然而，稍後的分析表明依巴谷衛星的靈敏度不夠高，不足以準確測定亞恆星伴星的軌道參數，也就是說，此行星的軌道傾角和質量仍是未知的[7]。
