Steubenville Township is one of the fourteen townships of Jefferson County, 俄亥俄州, 美國. The 2000 census found 4,695 people in the township, 1,064 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]
地理
編輯Located in the eastern part of the county along the Ohio River, it borders the following townships and city:
- Steubenville - 北
- Wells Township - 南
- Cross Creek Township - 西
Brooke County, West Virginia lies across the Ohio River to the east.
Most of the northern part of the township is occupied by the city of Steubenville, the county seat of Jefferson County. Of the remainder, the village of Mingo Junction is located in the northeastern part of the township.
Name and history
編輯Steubenville Township was founded in 1803.[4]
It is the only Steubenville Township statewide.[5]
政府
編輯鎮區有3人組成的理事會管理。理事會理事選舉在奇數年11月舉行，並在來年1月1日開始四年任期。兩名理事的選舉在總統選舉後一年舉行，另一名的選舉在總統選舉前一年舉行。鎮區財務官亦由選舉產生[6]，與一名鎮區理事選舉同時舉行，不過在來年4月1日才開始四年任期。若財務官或理事職位有空缺，將由剩餘理事填補。
