Steubenville Township is one of the fourteen townships of Jefferson County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 4,695 people in the township, 1,064 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]
地理
编辑Located in the eastern part of the county along the Ohio River, it borders the following townships and city:
- Steubenville - 北
- Wells Township - 南
- Cross Creek Township - 西
Brooke County, West Virginia lies across the Ohio River to the east.
Most of the northern part of the township is occupied by the city of Steubenville, the county seat of Jefferson County. Of the remainder, the village of Mingo Junction is located in the northeastern part of the township.
Name and history
编辑Steubenville Township was founded in 1803.[4]
It is the only Steubenville Township statewide.[5]
政府
编辑镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行，并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行，另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6]，与一名镇区理事选举同时举行，不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺，将由剩余理事填补。
