HD 149382是已知亮度最高的B型次矮星，光谱类型 B5 VI。它的核心正进行氦核熔合反应产生能量[3]，表面有效温度35500 K，因此属于蓝白色的 B 型恒星。HD 149382有一颗角距离1角秒的光学伴星[8]。
亚恒星伴星 编辑
2009年在HD 149382旁发现一颗可能是亚恒星、甚至是“超级木星”的伴星[5]，这颗候选天体的质量估计大约是太阳的一半。2011年一个团队观测结果无法确认先前的发现，使该天体的存在受到质疑。该次观测排除了轨道周期28日以内且质量高于木星的亚恒星伴星存在[8]。
